Richard Ahiagbah, communications director of the New Patriotic Party, is receiving positive treatment after he was involved in a serious accident in a town near Konongo, the party has confirmed.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning around 1:30 am on the Kumasi-Accra highway near Aduapompo while Ahiagbah was en route to Kumasi for a scheduled programme.

Preliminary reports indicate that Ahiagbah was the sole occupant when his vehicle was involved in a collision with a semi-trailer truck.

In a statement on Sunday, July 28, New Patriotic Party Secretary-General Justin Kodua Frimpong said: “Mr. Ahiagba is in a stable condition and is responding positively to treatment. The treating doctors have advised that visitors be restricted to ensure that Mr. Ahiagbah gets adequate rest during his recovery.”

The New Patriotic Party expressed its sincere gratitude to Ghanaians for their many prayers and good wishes for its Communications Director.

“The NPP expresses its sincere gratitude to all well-meaning Ghanaians for their overwhelming love and good wishes. The party appreciates everyone’s sincere prayers and support at this time.”

On Sunday, the party’s Secretary-General, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and other leaders visited Richard Ahiagbah at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where he is receiving treatment.

The Secretary-General of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, today visited Richard Ahiagba, the party’s Communications Director, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) following an accident he met on his way to Kumasi for a party manifesto.

Mr. Ahiagba is in a stable condition and is responding positively to treatment. The NPP expresses its sincere gratitude to all well-meaning Ghanaians for their overwhelming love and good wishes.

The treating physicians have advised limiting the number of visitors so that Mr Ahiagba can get enough rest during his recovery.
