Rinku Singh slips at the boundary and gives away a six; near miss causes panic among Gautam Gambhir and co.

Indian national cricket team batsman Rinku Singh sustained an injury in the match against Sri Lanka in the second T20I. The penultimate match of the three-match series between the teams will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.

Sri Lanka National Cricket Team is having a great outing with the bat in the ongoing match against India National Cricket Team. One of the main reasons for this is left-hander Kusal Perera, who has been stripping the bowlers bare and smashing them all over the park.

Kusal Perera, who came in to bat at No. 3, made sure that he took his team to the big total. The southpaw played some sharp knocks in his innings but he wouldn’t have done as much damage if he had been given a reprieve. But it also resulted in Rinku Singh picking up an injury.

On the 3rd ball of the 14th over, Hardik Pandya bowled a delivery that Kusal Perera played his trademark pick-up shot behind square on the leg side. He didn’t get his timing right and didn’t centre the ball as it went to Rinku Singh, who was close to the boundary.

It looked like Rinku Singh would catch the ball, and he did, but he lost control and slipped, causing him to fall and hit the boundary rope, allowing the batsman to score six runs and complete his fifty in style.

Fortunately, the injury did not seem too serious as Rinku Singh was quickly back on his feet and continued to field. Kusal Perera looked at his best as he hit his half-century and ensured that the Sri Lankan national team crossed the 130-run mark with ease.

Rinku Singh makes a comeback and catches Kusal Perera well

However, Rinku Singh did not take long to come back as he took a brilliant catch to remove Kusal Perera. It was Hardik Pandya who got his man in the 16th over; he went on to remove the batter after having missed the chance earlier.

Hardik Pandya bowled an off-speed short-of-length delivery over the onside, whereupon Kusal Perera took his front leg away to hit the ball over the onside. He couldn’t get it off the middle of the bat and it was out.

Rinku Singh bent over to take a low catch at deep square leg. While taking the catch, he kissed the ball after completing the catch. Fortunately, the earlier dropped catch did not cost India much as Kusal Perera was out after scoring a couple more runs.

Kusal Perera finished with an innings of 53 runs from 34 balls. The Southpaw batted at a strike rate of over 155 and hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. After his wicket, the team lost quick wickets and came under pressure.
