Kohima, July 28 (MExN): On July 26, Assam Rifles Kohima Battalion in collaboration with Eco Club of Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) Kohima organised a tree plantation drive in memory of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The theme was ‘Green Tomorrow: Our Land, Our Future – We are Generation Restoration’.

The plantation action took place on the new campus of Capital College.

In total, the students of Eco Club and the staff of Assam Rifle planted 500 saplings, including local species and fruits, to contribute to a better future.

During the event, the youth of the college were educated about the significance of Kargil Diwas, one of the greatest victories of the Indian Armed Forces, with special emphasis on the immense sacrifice made by Captain Kengruse, MVC (P).

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and honor the brave soldiers who served the country.
