July 28th.

This award, presented by the Global Energy & Environment Foundation (GEEF), recognises DMRC’s initiatives in conservation and efficient use of water resources in Delhi.

DMRC’s efforts have been praised for their comprehensive approach to water conservation, including the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems, installation of sewage treatment plants and innovative use of treated wastewater for construction activities, horticulture and dust control.

These initiatives have not only reduced water demand but also promoted environmental sustainability of urban infrastructure development, the official statement said.

During the award ceremony, DMRC highlighted its achievement of using dewatered construction site water to rejuvenate local lakes, including Roshanara Bagh Lake of Phase-IV sites. The company has also installed water-saving fixtures and dual plumbing systems in its facilities.

In addition, the purified water from the sewage treatment plants is used for the maintenance of the horticulture on the site, including the staff quarters and Metro Bhawan.

In another significant step towards environmental stewardship, DMRC recently declared its headquarters in Metro Bhawan as “Carbon Neutral”, underscoring its commitment to the fight against climate change.
