Two men die after three-vehicle collision involving motorcycles in Meath

Two men have tragically died and two other men have been hospitalised following a three-vehicle collision, also involving motorcycles, in Meath.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal collision which took place in Bellaney, Oldcastle, Meath, at around 4.40pm. Two men, both in their 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene.




One man was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries, while the other man was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The R195 road at Bellaney, between Oldcastle and Castlepollard, is closed for technical examination by forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision to come forward.

A Garda spokesman said: “Garda and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal three vehicle road traffic collision, also involving motorcycles, which occurred at approximately 4.40pm today, Sunday 28th July, at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Meath.”

They added: “Any road users who may have CCTV footage (including dashcams) who were travelling on the R195 road at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 28th July are urged to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
