I am writing to express my concern over the ongoing problem of parking on public roads near Electricity Department, Aquem Margao road stretch. This situation often causes considerable inconvenience to residents, pedestrians and commuters in the area.

The increasing number of vehicles parked on the road hampers the smooth flow of traffic, leading to frequent congestion and delays. This not only affects the daily commute of many, but also poses a safety risk, especially for pedestrians who are forced to navigate through narrow spaces and oncoming traffic. The situation becomes particularly problematic during peak hours (before and after) school hours, when traffic volumes are higher.

Furthermore, random parking also affects the accessibility of emergency services. In case of emergency, it is crucial that ambulances and fire brigades can drive unhindered. Current parking practices significantly compromise this access, putting lives at risk.

I urge the local authorities and the traffic management department to take immediate action to prevent parking on the said stretch and to ensure that such a thing does not happen again.
