CHICAGO (CBS) — A body was found in Lake Michigan near 31st Street Beach Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

According to police, the CPD Marine Unit pulled the male victim from the water around 12:45 p.m. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

This comes days after a boat capsizedleaving one skipper missing and three others in hospital, but police have not confirmed the body is that of the missing skipper. Officials say they are awaiting identification from the coroner’s office.

The boat capsized at 7:33 p.m. Friday just south of 31st Street Harbor. More than a dozen people were on the boat for a birthday party.

A woman on board said she felt the boat rocking heavily before it capsized, throwing everyone on board into the water. She said most of the people on board couldn’t swim.

The missing skipper is believed to be Lorenzo Tobin. However, officials have not confirmed whether the body found is that of Tobin.

This is a developing story.
