A man was killed in a horrific accident between a pickup truck and a semi-trailer in Hialeah Gardens on Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred early in the morning around 2:45 a.m. on US 27, just south of NW 138th Street.

The driver of a blue Chevy pickup truck was traveling north on U.S. 27 before crashing into a stopped truck, FHP said.

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene, officers confirmed. His identity has not been released.

Two lanes of U.S. Highway 27 were closed for about four hours after the accident.
