KARGIL, July 28: Dr. Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Kargil, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the construction work on NH-301 Kargil-Zanskar highway.
Dr. Akhoon addressed various issues on the ground and directed the NHIDCL Managing Director and the Project Advisor to optimize land use and expand the road wherever possible.
He stressed the need to repair irrigation canals affected by construction to avoid disruptions during the farming season.
Dr. Akhoon also attended the 35th birthday celebration of Aga Syed Haider Razvi in ​​Choskore Thang village.
The event honoured the contributions of the eminent socio-religious figure, with Dr Akhoon praising Razvi’s progressive vision and impact on education.
He highlighted the role Razvi played in guiding countless students, including himself and his elder brother, former Cabinet Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon, to success.
The CEC visit included the preparation of a school bus for Noon Public High School Choskore Thang, funded through NHIDCL’s CSR initiatives.
The bus was an important addition to the local educational infrastructure and illustrated the ongoing commitment to community well-being.
In his address at the anniversary, Dr. Akhoon praised Razvi’s contributions to both the religious and educational spheres and called for the continuation of seminars to pass on his teachings to future generations.
He thanked Chief Patron Anjum-e-Sahaeb Zaman Aga Migh-e-oth for organising the event and for allowing him to speak.
During his visit to Kargil, Dr. Akhoon also visited Government Model High School Sangrah where he admired the artwork of team Stringmo.
He praised the colourful mural project and expressed his pride in the artistic talent of the students, and congratulated their mentor, Master Sajjad Hussain, for his support and encouragement.
Dr. Akhoon’s visit highlighted important developments and efforts in community engagement, highlighting the administration’s commitment to infrastructure, education and honoring local heroes.
